technical difficulties

NEWS_technical_difficulties-754427

i had planned to show you the design plan for my client’s office/guest room today, but unfortunately i’m having technical difficulties with my scanner.  i’ll have to save that post until tomorrow or whenever i can get my scanner figured out.

in the meantime here are some gorgeous images of a nantucket vacation home designed by elizabeth corker for you to look at.  i could handle a vacation here any day.

i love everything about this bedroom, the chandelier, the artwork, the bed, the window treatment, the colors, everything.  isn’t it funny how so many designers use the word love so freely.  it’s probably my most overused word, but when you love something…you love it.  :o)

going dark

i love the look of charcoal colored walls.  i think i would like them best in a bedroom.  i really like the contrast of the baby blue bed against the dark walls in the picture below.dark walls

yellow’s a great compliment to it too.

sofa weekend

so, i hope you were able to do something a lot more fun this weekend than laying on the sofa.  yep, that nasty cold i had all last week stuck around the entire weekend.  so i was tied down to the sofa all weekend long.

being on the sofa so much got me thinking about my favorite sofas.  i would much rather have been lounging on one of these than mine.

last week when my mom went back home after visiting with us on thanksgiving.  she forgot to take her cold with her.  and since she left it with me, it’s decided it wants to stick around a little while.  i can’t believe i’ve been sick 2 times within one month!  i rarely get sick so this is really unusual for me.  i’m looking forward to the weekend and really hope my cold clears up by tomorrow because billy and i have plans to go to the stacks holiday lofts + artists tour on friday night.  then saturday we are supposed to have dinner with our neighbors.  so cold if you’re listening it’s time to pack it up and head out of town.

hope you all have a wonderful weekend!   looks like atlanta might get some snow on saturday.  whoohoo!

sneak peek – guest room/office

i’m working on a small guest room/office right now for a client in huntsville, alabama.  i’m presenting the design plan next week and i’ll share the whole plan with you once i present it to the client.  until then i thought i’d share just the fabrics and color scheme with you.

Untitled-1_edited-1

i have a  pretty tight budget for this area of the home so i’m going to be purchasing most of the furniture from ikea.  luckily the client loves ikea.    i’ll be using shelves and a desk top from ikea versus custom built-ins  to save money on the closet work station.   stay tuned next week to see the entire plan.
